Are you new to the responsibility of managing an Industrial Hygiene program?

This course will show you how to collect valid, representative samples to evaluate employee exposure to airborne chemicals, and noise, in the work environment. We will show you how to interpret the results based on current exposure standards.

Minimize the cost of hiring consultants to conduct routine monitoring required by OSHA standards and good practice.

Move Forward with Confidence knowing that with Bureau Veritas on your team, finding and correcting exposures that could lead to occupational disease or OSHA citations are just a seminar away.

You will learn:

  • How to collect air samples for dusts, fumes, mists, gases and vapors.
  • Monitor employee exposure to, and point sources of, noise.
  • Apply occupational exposure limits (OEL), such as the ACGIH Threshold Limit Values (TLVs) and the OSHA standards (PELs), to the results of the sampling.
  • Calibrate the flow rate through sample media.
  • Develop a sampling strategy based on the severity of exposure.
  • Recognize industrial hygiene hazards.
  • Measure air flow in ventilation systems.
  • Understand the selection, use, maintenance and fit testing of respirators.
  • Measure air contaminants for confined space entry.
Who Should Attend?

Designed for safety managers, plant managers, industrial hygienists, engineers, human resource managers, plant nurses, chemists, and technicians who are responsible for collecting data relating to industrial hygiene exposures in the plant and also for those who may receive and interpret industrial hygiene reports.
